Location: Northern Israel

Need/Application: Drinking and Domestic Water Treatment The water for this region of farming and agricultural communities was being contaminated, particularly by run-off during the winter rains. The region must have year-round consistent quality and availability of domestic/drinking water.

Solution and Results: A drinking and domestic water treatment system using multi-media filtration technology was installed providing 9600m3/day of clean, pure water for the entire region.

Customer: Qudriah

Location: Northern Galilee, Israel

Need/Application: The irrigation system for an agricultural region was showing high levels of contaminants in the water [whose original source is the wastewater of the northern city of Safed]. The water was therefore unusable for agriculture. This was happening despite the operation of a biological water treatment facility onsite.

Solution and Results: A filtration treatment system was implemented to further treat the water after the existing biological treatment. The filter system, handling 17,000m³/day improved the quality of the water to a level allowing it to be used for drip irrigation.

Customer: Dor-Alon Network of Automobile Service Stations

Location: Nazareth and Northern Israel

Need/Application: The owners of a network of Automobile Service Stations were facing new and more stringent regulations for the quality of run-off wastewater from their gas stations. In order to improve the quality of the effluent, they needed to find an effective solution for separating fuel from water.

Solution and Results: A special fuel/water separator system was installed in all locations. The 4L/h treatment allowed the company to meet the new environmental standards, eliminate the threat of effluent "audits" and avoid possibly costly fines.

Customer: "Miluban" Cellulose Plant

Location: Northern Israel

Need/Application: The levels of TSS and the organic overload in the industrial wastewater of this process plant were causing production slow-downs, productivity reduction, and product quality degradation.

Solution and Results: A DAF solution for removing TSS and the organic overload was installed treating 100m3/h. The improvement in production flow, and production and product quality has been significant.

Location: Central Israel

Need/Application: Wastewater Treatment Plant:
Mineralization beds (Wetland) for sludge

Wastewater resource - Residential, food industry and dairy farm (after anaerobic pre-treatment)
Wastewater design flow - 3600 m³/day
Sludge load: 750 kg/day
Existing sludge treatment: Partial aerobic digestion

A new regulation that forces the upgrading of sewage sludge to Class A level for agriculture reuse will become mandatory from March 2007. Therefore there is a need to upgrade the sludge to Class A level.

Solution: Mineralization beds for the wastewater treatment plant based on two existing un-used sealed ponds. The sludge flows vertically through an ecological system of vegetation and saturated bed. The bacteria existing in the roots zone decomposes the pollutants into stable compounds. The process is based on drying, increasing the TSS from 1% to 35% and mineralization, reducing the TSS by 20%.

Results: Wetland solution has straightforward and minimal maintenance requirements. Very low maintenance costs; Green, natural solution, integrating with its surrounding;
