Need/Application: During manufacturing processes, water is used for cooling.
After being used for cooling, the water is contaminated with particles of potatoes and a great deal of starch and organic material. This contamination was causing serious problems with the heat exchanger including manufacturing process stoppages for excessively high water temperature.
Production was being interrupted every day to clear mechanical components. During these interruptions, steam would escape from the roof causing environmental problems and issues.

Solution: Complete water filtration systems with automatic, electric self-cleaning screen filters. Results: 12 months without any stoppage in production. The problem with the heat exchanger is solved as are the environmental issues stemming from the earlier stoppages. Overall manufacturing process quality has improved dramatically. |
